BERRIZBEITIA
Anita Berrizbeitia is Associate Professor
of Landscape Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania.
Her research focuses on twentieth-century landscape
architecture, particularly on urban and productive landscapes.
Her work has been published in A+U, Daniel Urban
Kiley The Early Gardens (Princeton Architectural
Press), Recovering Landscape (Princeton Architectural
Press), Roberto Burle Marx Landscapes Reflected
(Princeton Architectural Press), and CASE: Downsview
(Prestel). She is the author, with architect Linda Pollak,
of INSIDE/OUTSIDE: Between Architecture and Landscape
(Rockport 1999).
A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Berrizbeitia studied
architecture at the Universidad Simón Bolívar,
and received a BA from Wellesley College and an MLA
from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. From 1987
to 1993 she practiced with Child Associates in Boston,
where she worked on many award-winning projects, and
in a broad range of scales, from tight urban sites to
large regional parks. She was Assistant Professor of
Landscape Architecture at Harvard GSD from 1993 to 1998.
